With Euro 2012 just around the corner here is a quick look at the first 3 days of matches and how the teams performed whilst qualifying for the tournament proper.

Joint hosts Poland open the Euro 2012 tournament with Greece.  Greece picked up 7 wins and 3 draws in the qualifying fixtures, during which time they conceded only 5 times.

Russia take on the Czech Republic, Russia were stronger qualifiers with 7 wins, 1 loss and 2 draws but Czech Republic faced tougher teams such as Spain.

Holland begin the group stages of Euro 2012 having won 9 of their 10 qualifiers, scoring on average 3.7 goals per game (that average was bumped up by their 11-0 thrashing of San Marino). They play Denmark who won 6 of their 8 qualifiers, most frequently scoring 2 goals a match.

Germany start the tournament with a 100% success rate, having scored 34 goals in 10 games, they take on a less impressive Portugal. Portugal have 6 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses to their name.  They have lost to and beaten fellow group members Denmark in the qualifiers.

Spain start Euro 2012 having won 10 from 10 qualifiers, scoring on average 3.25 goals per game, most frequently scoring 3 and never less than 2.  Italy boast 8 wins and 2 draws, having only conceded twice they start the tournament with one of the strongest defensive records.

The Republic of Ireland have scored on average 1.67 goals and conceded 0.67 per game on the road to Euro 2012, having only conceded more than 1 goal once, against Russia.  Croatia have 8 wins 2 draws and 2 losses from the qualifiers, they have scored on average 1.75 goals per game.
